Perry Park, Ky. - Grand Valley State University placed its top six finishers in the top 20 at the Northern Kentucky University Spring Invitational to win the event. The Lakers finished with a score of 621, three strokes ahead of second place Indianapolis. Kristina Langton was the top finisher for GVSU, scoring a 154 over the weekend. The Lakers will pick up the clubs again this weekend, April 4-5, at the University of Illinois Invite in Urbana, Ill.

Langton shot a 79 on day one and then rebounded with a 75 in round two to finish at 154, tied for eighth place. Ashley Smith was just one stroke behind her and finished tied for 11th place with a 155 (78-77). Tracy Puckering and Michelle Boogaard both shot 80 on day one and 78 on day two to score 158 and finish tied for 16th place. Caitlin Benett and Allie Tyler rounded out the top six for GVSU, tying for 19th place at 159 (76-83).
